Are there concept drawings of the restrooms in the proposed locations?
At this point, the only drawings that are available are the concept drawings presented in the Feasibility Study
and in the 2/17 Staff Report
. Will there be hours for restroom or will they be open 24/7?
At this point, it should be presumed that there will be established hours the restrooms will be open and closed, but those hours have not been established. Will restrooms be ready-built modules or constructed?
Currently, the proposal only presents concepts for constructed restrooms. What will the new restroom look like?
Once the location is selected, we will move into the architectural phase of the project and again seek public input on design elements such as architecture, materials, lighting, signage, and exterior/interior amenities. This level of detail has not been determined at this time. How will they be cleaned, by whom and how often?
The City of Mill Valley will be responsible for cleaning and maintenance of the restrooms. The schedule of cleaning is yet to be determined and most likely will be based on observed needs. There may also be seasonal variations to the schedule. Are the restrooms that currently exist in the Depot Bookstore and Café public restrooms?
The owners of the Depot Bookstore and Café, by the terms of the lease, are allowed to control the use of the restrooms in the café for the use of patrons. The Mill Valley City Council has asked the Café owners to allow the general public to use the restroom, and they do. Restroom users, however, frequently experience long lines to access the lavatory and congestion in the dining area of the café. The existing facility is also not physically accessible to all users. How can I share my comments?
