Marsha Heckman is a Mill Valley writer of seven books and the artist who brings Dia de Los Muertos to Mill Valley for the second year. Her sculptural work with flowers at the DeYoung Museum’s annual Bouquets to Art exhibition, and the St Mary’s Cathedral Annual Floral Festival, is well known for its originality and the connection of art to nature. This year’s Mill Valley exhibit will include her memory boxes and decorated skulls which honor and invite the spirits of her loved ones home for a visit. Come and learn about this holiday and find out why the offrenda (offering table) includes animals, water and  salt.
