Emergency Preparendess Classes Offered

 CERT
Are you someone who takes action when you see someone in need of help? Do you enjoy contributing to your community? In a large scale disaster, both self-reliance and the use of volunteers under professional guidance will be necessary. The Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) is designed to emphasize hands-on experience and is taught by Fire Department personnel. Topics covered include emergency preparedness disaster first aid/triage and fire prevention utilities and light search and rescue.

Individuals: $35
Each additional family member: $30
NOTE: Classes in 2011 and beyond
will be 15 hours instead of 10.

 Fire Preparation Class "FIRE in MILL VALLEY!"
Join us for a free, two-hour class for Mill Valley residents. Come learn why we are at greater risk than Oakland was before their 1991 fire and what you can do about it.
The workshop will cover:
- Why Mill Valley is at risk for a catastrophic fire
- Good and bad types of vegetation
- How you can stop a fire from spreading in your landscape
- How you can make your home fire safe
- What the City and County are doing
- Personal safety during a fire
- What your block and neighborhood can do
