Andrew Berman was elected to the City Council in November, 2005.  Prior to his term on the Council Andy served six years on the city's Planning Commission, serving as Chair in 2002. He was Vice-Chair of the Hillside Development Advisory Committee in 2001-02, helping to identify and develop new design guidelines for sensitive hillside sites.

Andy serves as Chairman of the Marin Telecommunications Agency which oversees the franchise agreement with Comcast and related public access programing, County wireless initiatives, as well as the coordination of telecommunications between and among other Joint Power Authorities. Andy is also Mill Valley's representative on the Board of SASM (Sewerage Agency of Southern Marin) and SMEMPS (Southern Marin Emergency Medical Paramedic System).

Andy is Senior Vice President of Sierra Wireless, Inc. He has lived in Mill Valley for 15 years with his wife and four children.
