Election & Voter Information

The next General Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, for the purpose of electing two members to the City Council for full, four year terms. No measures shall be submitted to voters at this Election.

For more information regarding the upcoming Election, please review the following documents:

  • May 6, 2013 City Council Staff Report Calling the Election (Calendar of Important Dates included).
  • Notice of Election: Please note that the Nomination Period for these offices was from July 15, 2013, to August 9, 2013. Since an incumbent officer of the City did not file by August 9, 2013, the Nomination Period was extended to August 14, 2013.
  • Please note that four Candidates filed paperwork during the prescribed Nomination Period: George Gordon, Jessica Jackson, Dan Kelly and John McCauley.

Registered voters who reside within City limits may run for City Council. If you have further questions, please contact City Clerk at or 388-4033.

Register to Vote

Residents who have moved or changed their name must re-register to be eligible to vote in future elections. Postage-paid, preaddressed registration forms may be obtained from any post office, city/town hall, public library or fire station in Marin County.

Register to Vote in Person

Residents may also register to vote in person at the Marin County Registrar of Voters' Office. Office hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The phone number is 499-6456, and the fax number is 499-6447.  If you have moved or changed your name you must re-register to be eligible to vote in any future elections.
