The mission of the Mill Valley Police Department is to sustain an environment in which people can live healthfully, move about safely and feel confident that they and their property are protected from criminal harm, the hazard of fire and natural or people-caused disasters, and to create a climate of security within the community by protecting life, property and individual rights.
The City of Mill Valley would like to remind residents and gardeners that the use of gasoline-powered leaf blowers is prohibited by the Mill Valley Municipal Code in an effort to minimize air and noise pollution.
While celebrating this holiday season, we want you to have peace of mind that your property remains undisturbed and you return to it the way you left it. Here are some safety tips in order to have a cheerful and safe holiday season:
Beginning Friday, November 24, 2017 to Sunday, December 31, 2017, parking meter fees will be temporarily waived to encourage patronage with local businesses. Visitors downtown will be able to park for free in spots up to the maximum time allotment which is noted on the parking meter. Typically that maximum time allotment is 2 hours. Parking enforcement officers will continue to enforce time restrictions and other parking violations during this time, with the exception of expired meters.
Later this week, the Mill Valley Police Department is hosting a shared resources traffic enforcement event (STEP) in an effort to reduce vehicle code violations, and increase safety with the assistance and cooperation of our neighboring Southern Marin agencies.
