The proposed improvements are identified in the 2008 Safe Routes to School Travel Plan, and include the following components:

  • Possible widening of approximately 120 LF of roadway just north of the Camino Alto/Sycamore Avenue intersection to accommodate future Class II bike lanes on southbound Camino Alto.
  • Installation of bicycle detection cameras or loops at the 3 main traffic signals on Camino Alto between Miller Avenue and E Blithedale Avenue.
  • Installation of accessible curb ramps, realignment of existing crosswalks, and widening of south east corner at the intersection of Camino Alto/Sycamore Avenues.
  • Possible widening of existing multi-use path on east side of Camino Alto between Miller Avenue and Sycamore Avenue.
