2002 Click Off Photos
Monday, November 25, 2013
The Mill Valley Click Off Photography Contest is presented by the Mill Valley Art Commission in Mill Valley, California. The 2002 contest was held from October 25 to October 27, 2002.
During a 48-hour period on that weekend, contest entrants could shoot one roll of slide film, provided by the Art Commission, anywhere within Mill Valley 94941 or in Mt Tamalpais State Park. After the film was developed, the entrants selected up to four slides for judging, no more than one in each of the four categories: People, Places, Things and Artistic Expression.
Judges were Jennifer Kelley, Roni Dalton and Robert "Skip" Sandberg. Photographs were judged based on the following criteria: the ability to capture the unique essence of Mill Valley, creative composition, clarity and color value.
First Place and Honorable Mention were selected in each of the four categories, and in addition a $200 gift certificate redeemable towards photographic equipment and services was awarded to the photograph judged Best of Show.
All winning photographs, plus selected photos from all photographers who participated in the contest, were displayed in the Mill Valley City Hall Council Gallery during the month of December, 2002, with a special reception for the photographers on First Tuesday, Mill Valley's monthly celebration of art gallery openings, on December 3 from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Thank you to the coordinators, volunteers and participants. Gratitude also goes to the sponsors of the contest: FrameCrafters Gallery, Photo Sprint, New Lab and Bank of Marin. And of course, congratulations to the winners!
