With temperatures steadily increasing this week, the National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for the North Bay. Expect hot temperatures inland from Wednesday into Thursday.
Caltrans has started electrical work which is a part of the northbound US-101 Ramp Metering Project at the eastbound and westbound Tiburon Blvd on ramps and the Sir Francis Drake on ramp to northbound US-101 in Corte Madera, Mill Valley and Tiburon.
This project will include grinding the existing pavement, installing new pavement overlay, upgrading the existing curb ramps to meet ADA standards and installing new green bike markings.
Since May 1, there have been over 215 reported auto burglaries in Marin County, with at least 14 occurring in Mill Valley. Historically, the majority of our auto burglaries have occurred along the 101 corridor, but there has been a substantial increase in the downtown area.
Earlier we received reports of a quarter acre vegetation fire on the west side of Panoramic Highway and Muir Woods Road.
Beginning this month, Caltrans is installing ramp meters in two phases in Marin County. Phase 1 includes construction of ramp meters in the northbound direction along Highway 101 from Spencer Avenue to Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. The project will also create a two-lane northbound on-ramp to highway 101 at Tiburon Boulevard with related access improvements.

On November 27th, the City of Mill Valley Police and Fire Departments received notice of a bomb threat at the Mill Valley Middle School. School officials quickly placed the entire campus of approximately 1200 students, teachers, staff and administrators on shelter in place, and then ordered an evacuation to the Mill Valley Community Center.

The City of Mill Valley’s Traffic Congestion and Reduction Advisory Task Force convened again this week, diving even more deeply into the data that explains the causes and effects of the City’s traffic congestion problem and taking significant steps toward identifying a range of both short and long-term measures to reduce traffic.
In its ongoing quest to address the vexing issue of local and regional traffic congestion, the City of Mill Valley’s Traffic and Congestion Reduction Advisory Task Force convened again earlier this month, digging into an array of data and honing in on some possible solutions.
Over the past two years the City of Mill Valley has experienced a large increase in traffic congestion. In response to these unacceptable conditions the City of Mill Valley, School District and regional leaders have worked diligently to identify the root causes of this frustrating problem.
