How You Can Help Prevent Vandalism:
Educate - Young people need to know the costs of vandalism. Remind them that vandalism is a crime, it can be expensive to clean and is sometime irreparable.
Report - If you see anyone committing vandalism, report it to the police, school authorities, or someone who can take action as soon as possible.
Protect – Protect your house, apartment, or business from vandalism by using good lighting and installing close circuit cameras. This can help in deterring and/or capturing individuals who are doing the vandalism.
Clean - Clean up vandalism as soon as it happens -- replace signs, repair playground equipment, paint over graffiti.
Get involved - Support recreational programs for young people in your community. Volunteer your time, and help in any way you can.
