The preliminary report of a survey of the street trees in Downtown Mill Valley, using ISA Tree Risk Assessment BMP’s found that two trees on Throckmorton Avenue pose a high risk of falling and will be removed. Both trees have large cavities in their trunks that have led to extensive structural decay. One tree is located at 53 Throckmorton, at Mill Valley Market, and the other at 58 Throckmorton, in front of Mili Encore.
The trees to be removed are marked with information posters. The removal is scheduled for Monday, November 26.
In keeping with the City’s commitment to a healthy urban forest, replacement trees of the same or other suitable species will be installed in due course.
