First Time Homeowner Program – Lottery Drawing for Affordable 3 Bedroom Townhome in Mill Valley

Marin Housing, the non-profit entity which manages affordable housing units for Mill Valley and many other Marin Counties, will hold a lottery drawing for a Below Market Rate 3 BR/2.5 BA townhome in the Shelter Ridge development in Mill Valley. Lottery eligibility conditions require a minimum 3- person household and maximum qualifying household income guidelines as below.

Maximum qualifying household income

  • 3-person: $ 98,500
  • 4-person: $109,450
  • 5-person: $ 118,200
  • 6- person $ 126,950
  • 7- person $ 135,700
  • 8- person $ 144,500


The deadline for applications to be received by Marin Housing is 10 am on Wednesday, March 18, 2020.  The lottery drawing will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2020.

About the program: The BMR Home Ownership program offers low and moderate-income, first-time home buyers the opportunity to purchase specified condominium units in Marin County at less than market value. Marin Housing administers the sale of newly constructed units as well as previously owned units being offered for resale. There are approximately 340 homes in the program located throughout Marin County. More info can be found here.
