The Miller Avenue Streetscape Project is an 18-month construction project to repair infrastructure and improve multi-modal use of Miller Avenue, including addressing safety for pedestrians and bicyclists of all ages and abilities,providing better transit access, and improving motorist safety.
Construction began the week of June 13, 2016 and will continue through Fall 2017. Please note that all construction schedules are subject to change due toweather restrictions and other unforeseen delays.

What happened last week:
The contractor replaced sewer laterals and cleanouts on the existing 10-inch sewer pipe in the Parkway between Millwood and Willow Street, and also installed new sewer lateral and cleanouts on the 15-inch sewer line on the south side of Miller Avenue. Work crews finished installing the sewer system manholes and replacing sewer laterals and cleanouts in the Passage section near Vogue Cleaners and the Mill Valley Lumber Yard. The contractor graded soils, installed electrical and irrigation systems and placed concrete between Willow Street and Locust Avenue. Work crews installed electrical systems and placed new concrete curbs and sidewalks on the north side of Miller Avenue between Willow Street and Valley Circle, while the landscaping subcontractor processed requests for landscaping work on the north side of Miller Avenue. The contractor did some layout and installed fencing in the Marsh Room near Tamalpais high but the work has been put on hold for now.
What is happening this week:
The contractor is using grout to seal up the reinforced concrete pipe of the storm drain on the north side of Miller Avenue between Valley Circle and La Goma Street, depending on scheduling conflicts with PG&E's work in the area. Work crews continues to replace sewer laterals and cleanouts on the existing 10-inch sewer pipe in the Parkway between Millwood Street and Willow Street, and also installed new sewer lateral and cleanouts on the 15-inch sewer line on the south side of Miller Avenue. The contractor is replacing sewer laterals between 27 and 35 Miller Avenue (4 Walls with a Roof to Postal Annex). Work crews continue to grade soils, adjust utility boxes and place concrete on the south side of Miller Avenue between Will Street and Locust Avenue. The contractor is doing demolition and installing pedestrian barricades on the south side of Miller Avenue between Critterland Pets and the former location of Once Around in preparation of installing concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalk, as well as grading soils and installing electrical lines. The landscape contractor continues to process requests for landscaping work. Work in the Marsh Room near Tam High remains on hold for now.
What to expect in the next few weeks:

Work crews will continue to install sewer laterals on both the 8-inch and 15-inch sewer lines in the Parkway Room between Millwood Street and Park Avenue. The contractor will continue to replace sewer laterals and cleanouts in the Passage Room between Sunnyside Avenue and the Mill Valley Lumber Yard. Work crews will be placing concrete and doing landscaping on the south side of Miller Avenue between Critterland Pets and the former location of Once Around. The landscaping contractor will be digging out and cleaning up planter areas on the north side of Miller Avenue and placing top soil on them. Work in the Marsh Room near Tam High remains on hold for now.

Drive slowly through the construction zone.
Please be courteous to your neighbors and do not to cut through the residential side streets during the construction period.
City and Construction Management staff are making every effort to mitigate impacts during construction and are working with the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce to notify local businesses and residents of the planned work.
