SASM’s Camino Alto Force Main Replacement Project's lane closure begins Thursday, July 7, 2016. The northbound right lane on Camino Alto between Miller and Sycamore Avenues will be closed Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. The project continues through Friday, August26, 2016.
Work is being scheduled during summer hours when traffic volumes are at their lowest. Parking spaces will be unavailable on the northwest side of Camino Alto (between Sycamore and Miller, near the Redwoods) during roughly the second half of the project. The work was also coordinated with the Miller Avenue Streetscape project, which is also occurring this summer. Work related to the Miller Avenue project will be located on Miller Avenue, west of Reed Street, so the two projects should not be overlapping.
The project consists of replacement of the Camino Alto force main and restoration of the asphalt and concrete surfaces following completion of the project. The total project cost is $531,520 and is funded by SASM's bond issue.
Minor delays and traffic congestion are anticipated. Residents, businesses and visitors are encouraged to add extra time for travel. Traffic controls will be monitored and adjusted as necessary to minimize delays. Please watch for signs directing traffic through the lane closure and proceed through the work area with caution.
