The Miller Avenue Streetscape Project is an 18-month construction project to repair infrastructure and improve multi-modal use of Miller Avenue, including addressing safety for pedestrians and bicyclists of all ages and abilities, providing better transit access, and improving motorist safety.
Construction began the week of June 13, 2016 and will continue through 2017. Please note that all construction schedules are subject to change due to weather restrictions and other unforeseen delays.

What happened last week:
The contractor continued to install sewer service laterals in the Gateway area between Reed Street and Camino Alto. Work crews placed concrete sidewalks, curbs and gutters along the north side of Miller Avenue at the east corner of La Goma Street by the Showroom 383 Salon and Mama's Royal Cafe. The landscape contractor placed new planting soil in the new planter boxes along the north side of Miller Avenue in preparation for the new tree boxes that will be placed at a future date. Work crews prepared for the demolition and concrete work for future medians on Miller Avenue near La Goma Street.
What is happening this week:
The contractor is installing the remaining sewer service laterals in the Gateway area between Reed Street and Camino Alto, which will conclude sewer lateral work in the Gateway section. Work crews are finishing the second half the Jiffy Lube driveway on the south side of Miller Avenue at Montford Avenue. This work marks the end of the driveway construction near Jiffy Lube. The contractor is restriping lanes and doing demolition for the creation of new medians on Miller Avenue between Willow Street and La Goma Street/Montford Avenue. On Friday, work crews will be installing new street signs along the north side of Miller Avenue in the areas of work that have been completed.
What to expect in the next few weeks:
The contractor will shut down work for the Christmas and New Year's holidays from December 23 to January 2, 2017. No construction work will occur during this time. The contractor will resume work on January 3, 2017.
The City recommends that motorists:
City and Construction Management staff are making every effort to mitigate impacts during construction and are working with the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce to notify local businesses and residents of the planned work. City and Construction Management staff will provide regular updates to the community regarding the project.
