Miller Avenue Construction Update - Week of June 12-16, 2017

What happened last week:
The contractor installed underground utility crossings, placing irrigation systems and planting soils at various locations on Miller Avenue. Work crews removed the trench plate concrete gutter and ramp into Una Way, which is across the street from Park Street on the Parkway section of Miller Avenue, and restored full access to it by Friday. The contractor continued to demolish the existing concrete and place the new crosswalks on Miller Avenue at Valley Circle and at Reed Street. The contractor continued to remove concrete in the Parkway section between Millwood Street and Willow Street to achieve the final roadway grade level.

What is happening this week:

The contractor is lowering the manholes in the Main Street area between Willow Street and Reed Street/Valley Circle in preparation for the upcoming roadway Full Depth Reclamation work.

What to expect in the next few weeks:

Work crews will continue to remove concrete in the Parkway section between Millwood Street and Willow Street to achieve the final roadway grade level. The contractor is lowering the manholes in the Main Street area between Willow Street and Reed Street/Valley Circle in preparation for the upcoming roadway Full Depth Reclamation work.

NOTE: All forecasted work is contingent on weather.


The City recommends that motorists:
  • Add time to your trip and plan ahead
  • Drive slowly through the construction zone.
  • Please be courteous to your neighbors and do not to cut through the residential side streets during the construction period.

City and Construction Management staff are making every effort to mitigate impacts during construction and are working with the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce to notify local businesses and residents of the planned work. City and Construction Management staff will provide regular updates to the community regarding the project.
