RSVP Parking

The Resident Shopper Vehicle Permit (RSVP) is designed to make it convenient for Mill Valley and other Marin residents to shop, eat and visit downtown Mill Valley. The permit allows residents (zip codes 94941, 94920, 94925, and 94965) free parking up to the maximum allowable time limit (usually two hours) at any of the City’s parking meters, seven days a week, from 9:00am to 6:00pm.

Obtaining a Permit

RSVP stickers can be purchased online, or at the Police Department Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, and Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. The cost of the permit is $40.00 per vehicle. Households can purchase up to four stickers, one per vehicle.

Effective June 1, 2018 RSVP stickers will no longer be sold for the period ending July 31. In early July, RSVP stickers for the upcoming period (August 1, 2018 through July 31, 2019) will be available for purchase.

Or click here to purchase a sticker online.

If you sell your car, remove your sticker and return it to the Police Department where the City will replace your permit and reassign it to a new car at a cost of $5.00.

Stickers, once purchased, should be placed on the outside of your vehicle, either on the back bumper or the rear window on the driver’s side of the car.

Permits are valid through July 31 of the following year. After December 1st, permits may be purchased for half price ($20 for Mill Valley residents and $30 for other eligible residents).

Contesting a Ticket

If you believe you received a parking ticket in error, immediately contact the Mill Valley Police Department at (415) 389-4100. You may be asked to come in to the station to cancel the citation.
