Digitization Projects - Current and Recent
Tamalpais News (2021)
Over the last five years the History Room has been working hard to digitize our collection of The Tamalpais News, Tam High's student-run newspaper. In August 2021 we launched the entire collection at the California Digital Newspaper Collection (CDNC).
Digitization of The Tamalpais News was accomplished thanks to a partnership between journalism students and faculty of Tamalpais High School and the Mill Valley Public Library, with the assistance of the Marin County Free Library. Funding was provided by the Mill Valley Library with assistance from a private donor.

California Revealed (2018/2019)
The Lucretia Little History Room of the Mill Valley Public Library was selected as a project partner for the latest cycle of the California Revealed project. The Library collaborated with The Annual Dipsea Race organization to add to the collection and digitize more than 400 negatives from photographer Raymond Coyne depicting the Dipsea Race, Mt. Tamalpais, and other Bay Area locales and events during the early 1900s.
California Revealed (2016/2017)
The Mill Valley Public Library was selected as one of the very first project partners for the debut of the California State Library’s California Revealed project in 2016/2017. At that time, we digitized some 300 photographs and ephemera materials from the History Room, from railroad ephemera to photographs of early Mill Valley settlers.
