A medicinal cannabis delivery-only retailer has applied to open a new business in unincorporated Mill Valley, at 25 Evergreen Avenue. This location is two parcels away from the Whole Foods on Miller Avenue, just outside of Mill Valley City limits.
The application will go before the Marin County Board of Supervisors on February 25, 2020.
In 2017, the County of Marin adopted an ordinance that allows up to four medicinal cannabis delivery-only retailers. The ordinance requires a delivery-only retailer to be closed to the public and dispense medicinal cannabis exclusively by delivery. In addition, delivery-only retailers will have to be located at least 600 feet from schools, day-care centers, youth centers and playgrounds. Locations could be within industrial-zoned and office properties in addition to commercially zoned districts. The ordinance only affects medicinal cannabis regulations in the unincorporated areas of Marin; towns and cities create regulations in their own jurisdictions.
The applicant has undergone the required processes – including submitting an application, undergoing a technical analysis, site review and evaluation by County staff.
The County has determined the applicant meets the basic submittal requirements and demonstrates its ability to meet operational requirements at the site proposed. County staff will recommend that the County Supervisors approve the medicinal cannabis delivery-only retailer license application at 25 Evergreen Avenue and authorize the issuance of a medicinal cannabis delivery-only retailer annual operating license.
