Plan Check Residential & Commercial

APPLY FOR PERMITS   HERE

Contractors or Architects can apply for a permit online, but if this is your first time applying for a permit online, you will need a user account. To request a user account please contact Athena Langdon, Permit Service Coordinator at alangdon@cityofmillvalley.org with your State License Number and contact information including your address, phone number and email address.

You will receive confirmation that the application was received and a Dropbox transfer request where you can upload your plan set and accompanying documentation (calcs, soils report, energy report, etc.)

All online Plan Check Residential or Commercial applications once received will be "Under Review" and could take up to 4-6 weeks for our initial review to be completed. If your plans receive corrections or additional information is needed you will receive a plan check review report upon the completion of the initial review, along with a Dropbox transfer request to upload written responses, corrections plans, and any documents.

Plan Check Residential applications are used for the following types of projects:

  • New Single Family Dwellings
  • New ADU Units (Accessory Dwelling Units) for additional information on ADU's click here
  • Remodels
  • Additions
  • Demolition Permits (Full or Partial)
  • Residential Repairs
  • Decks
  • Garage and Accessory Structures
  • Retaining Walls
  • Swimming Pools
  • Fences
  • Hot Tubs

Plan Check Commercial applications are used for the following types of projects:

  • New Commercial Buildings
  • Tenant Improvements
  • Signs
  • Commercial Pools
  • Apartments Remodels/ Repairs
  • Mixed Use Buildings Remodels/ Repairs
