On Tuesday, March 13, 2018, a large tree fell on the 400 block of Rose Avenue and undermined the adjacent roadway, making it impassible to vehicles, bikes and pedestrians.
At their March 19 meeting, the City Council adopted a Resolution declaring an emergency and authorizing work to be done to repair the damaged portion of Rose Avenue.
Miller-Pacific Engineering Group took geotechnical boring samples the week of March 26 to establish design criteria for a new retaining wall. Next steps include design, bidding and contracting, which could take between 7-8 weeks. City engineering staff anticipate construction will take place in May or June.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we make the needed repairs.
