Camino Alto South End Bike Lane Project

Lane Closures / Traffic Delays: 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Tuesday, February 19, 2019 through Monday, April 15, 2019

The project will add Class II bike lanes on Camino Alto between Miller Avenue and East Blithedale Avenue, as well as signal hardware upgrades at the four signalized intersections along this corridor. Class II bike lanes along this corridor are identified as a priority project in the City’s 2017 Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation Plan. This corridor is widely used by residents and visitors as it is an arterial roadway, and it serves to connect various public institutions, the City Community Center, three schools, and recreational areas. The project is funded by the Federal Highway Improvement Program Cycle 6, Transportation Development Act and Transportation Fund for Clean Air.

The project will take approximately eight weeks to complete depending on weather conditions. The contractor will do their best to complete the project faster than the allowed time frame. Construction work will take place on weekdays only and work is not allowed on holidays. Striping will be done at night to minimize the impact on traffic.

This improvement requires lane closures/lane shifts/traffic delays for the duration of the project. All signs will be posted 48 hours in advance of work. “No Parking” signs will be posted 3 days in advance of work.
