Fireworks Can Cause Wildfires And Are Illegal

The Fourth of July celebration is coming up!

With that, the Mill Valley Fire Department wants to remind you to stay safe and enjoy responsibly. Fireworks are still illegal in the county of Marin.

Fireworks can quickly cause dangerous wildfires. By way of just one example, in October 2019, fireworks activity on Fern Canyon Road in Mill Valley caused a vegetation fire that quickly progressed and required a total of twenty-three fire resources to respond and combat the fire.

There are plenty of venues around the bay to get your firework fill. We hope the community will begin planning to celebrate safely for this upcoming holiday.
