Affordable Housing Update: Council to Consider Resolution for the “House Mill Valley” Home Match Program

At their meeting on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, the City Council will consider a Resolution to enter a Professional Services Agreement with Covia for the “House Mill Valley” Home Match Program. This program will leverage existing, underutilized housing such as a large home occupied by 1-2 people (typically seniors and empty nesters) . The program will be supported by the Affordable Housing Trust Fund, which was established in 2017 to fund projects that support the housing needs of affordable households in the City.

The primary focus of the “House Mill Valley” program is to generate a home sharing program matching homeowners with spare rooms with local community members who are looking for an affordable place to live, such as the local workforce.
