The Housing Advisory Committee - Two priority programs

The Housing Advisory Committee will host a meeting on September 30, 2020 to discuss two priority programs.

Item 1: House Mill Valley/ Home Match Program. Staff will report on the kick-off of an 18-month contract with Covia Foundation to provide consulting services designed to connect community members looking for housing with homeowners who have extra space in their home or interested in creating and Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU).

Item 2: Identification of City-Owned Property to Leverage Affordable Housing. Staff will report on the preliminary review and analysis of City-owned property to leverage for affordable housing projects by either selling city-owned land to finance affordable housing projects and/or donating land that could be used to build affordable housing. The committee will then provide recommendations for City Council review at the October 5, 2020 meeting.
