Several new tools are now available for homeowners interested in building an accessory dwelling unit (ADU), also known as a second unit, a granny flat or in-law unit. Help is available whether a property owner wants to generate extra income or create more housing for the local workforce.
The launch of www.ADUMarin.org is aimed to help local Marin County residents further consider an ADU on their property. The website provides step-by-step information to guide people through the process--from thinking about building a unit to financing, permitting, building and renting out an ADU.
To introduce the new tools, a webinars will be held November 5, 2020 from 6:30-8 p.m. for Mill Valley residents.
