DEI Speaker Event - April 21

Heart of the Village presents "5 for 5" Speakers Series:

Want to know more about the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) work being done in your neighborhood — and how you can get involved?

Join us WEDNESDAY, APRIL 21 from 7-8PM to meet five DEI leaders from different Southern Marin towns, learn about the impactful initiatives they’re working on, and find out how to connect and support these efforts.

  • Lisa Jimenez, CEO and founder of OLAS Equity and Belonging Strategist
  • LeShawn Holcomb, educator, advocate, and artist at Bayside Academy and Griot Theatre Company
  • Sara Matson, fundraising, marketing/communications, and volunteer engagement at Canal Alliance
  • Hilary Heaven, member of TUHSD Racial Task Force and MVFREE (Mill Valley Force for Racial Equity and Empowerment)

Together we can create a more diverse and equitable community where everyone belongs.

About Heart of the Village (HOTV):
"HOTV is a community of people in Southern Marin, both BIPOC and white identifying, working every day to unlearn our biases, cease our passive participation in institutional racism, and share our experiences about the challenges of being Black or Brown in Marin.

We are a group of Mill Valley residents (moms, educators, advocates, community organizers) educating ourselves and taking local action to interrupt racism and help make Marin a place where everyone belongs and feels welcome."
