Mill Valley City Council to Declare June 2021 as LGBTQ+ Pride Month

At their meeting on June 7, the City Council will present a proclamation declaring June 2021 as LGBTQ+ Pride Month in the City of Mill Valley.

"The City of Mill Valley has a diverse Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning (LGBTQ+) community, whose members live, attend school, visit, and work in the City," it reads.

"All are welcome in the City of Mill Valley to live, work, and play- and every family, in any shape, deserves a place to call home where they are safe, happy, and supported. Our community denounces prejudice and unfair discrimination based on age, gender identity, gender expression, race, color, religion, marital status, national origin, and sexual orientation as an affront to the City's fundamental principles. The City of Mill Valley urges residents to recognize the contributions made by members of the LGBTQ+ community and to actively promote the principles of equity, equality, visibility, diversity, and inclusion for all."
