New Streetlights on Miller Avenue

We have received a number of comments and questions about the new streetlights on Miller Avenue, which are a recent addition as part of the Miller Avenue Streetscape Project. The existing lights were mismatched, old, and ready to be replaced and relocated with new, more energy efficient lights.

The streetlights were chosen by a group of community members and design professionals appointed by the City Council in 2015. The group, called the Design Elements Advisory Committee (DEAC), carefully considered many options for the street lights in consultation with the community.

The committee selected the wood poles to replace the existing streetlights, some of which were wood. The wood feature was also selected by the DEAC as it matches the natural setting of Mill Valley, and reflects the community's character.

Please do not post signs on the new light posts. Thank you!
