Miller Avenue Streetscape Project Update - September 27, 2017

Here is the latest news on the Miller Avenue Streetscape Project:

What happened last week:

Work crews: 

  • Continued the installation of the Pedestrian Bridge located in the Marsh. 
  • Completed the first phase of installing the Cold In Place Pipe (CIPP) sewer liners. 
  • Applied the remaining roadway striping.
  • Installed two tidal gates in the Marsh.
  • Completed final pavement treatment of parking stalls.
  • Prepared medians to place trees, shrubs, and plants.
  • Installed plexiglass for the transit shelter.

What is happening this week:

Work crews are:

  • Planting of trees, shrubs and plants. 
  • Removing a concrete swale and placed top soil. 
  • Placing concrete walls for the two tidal gates in the Marsh.

What to expect in the next few weeks:

Work crews will:

  • Conduct remaining work for the tidal gates in the Marsh.
  • Install the landscaping. 
  • Conduct final night work for the sewer system CIPP. Night work will resume the end of October for approximately one week.
  • Paint curbs (red and green in appropriate areas).

Please Note: There may be parking restrictions and lane shifts to allow for the work mentioned above and other miscellaneous items. Rain and other factors may impact the schedule, therefore, all dates are subject to change.

City and Construction Management staff are making every effort to mitigate impacts during construction and are working with the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce to notify local businesses and residents of the planned work. City and Construction Management staff will provide regular updates to the community regarding the project.
