Miller Avenue Streetscape Project Update: September 20, 2017

Here is the latest news on the Miller Avenue Streetscape Project:

What happened last week:
The contractor installed bike racks and work continued on the Pedestrian Bridge located in the Marsh. Work crews cleaned the sewer system, and sewer lining night work. Work crews resumed final roadway striping and installed two 48 inch tidal flaps in the Marsh area.

What is happening this week:
Work crews continue to install the Marsh pedestrian bridge. Work crews continue cleaning the sewer system during the day, and sewer lining night work 7pm-7am, with additional day work as needed. The contractor placed roadway striping and street signage. Landscapers are preparing the planting areas for placement of trees and shrubs. Work crews are also placing a pavement treatment on the median parking areas, and final striping will take place shortly thereafter.

What to expect in the next few weeks:
The contractor will prepare median islands and sidewalk planting areas in the Main Street room in anticipation of landscaping work. Work crews will continue to install the Marsh pedestrian bridge.

Please Note: There will be parking restrictions and lane shifts, to allow for final paving treatments, striping, sewer cleaning operations and other miscellaneous items. Rain and other factors may impact the schedule, therefore, all dates are subject to change.

City and Construction Management staff are making every effort to mitigate impacts during construction and are working with the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce to notify local businesses and residents of the planned work. City and Construction Management staff will provide regular updates to the community regarding the project.
