The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning with gusty winds and low humidity today into Saturday evening.
Northerly winds will decrease through much of Friday, although local gusts up to 25 mph are still possible on higher ridges andpeaks. North to northeast winds are then forecast to increase once again late Friday and become locally strong and gusty Fridaynight and Saturday. Strongest winds are expected to be at elevations above 1500 feet in the North Bay Mountains and EastBay hills on Friday night and Saturday morning.
Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly, especially over elevated terrain overnight. Outdoor burning is not recommended. Avoid activities with open flames or sparks. Don’t drive onto dry grass or brush. Properly discard cigarettes. Evacuate if ordered to by local officials.
